چکیده
As part ofa collaborative project, 4-viny]cyclohcxene diepoxide (VCD), an ovarian toxicant, was intraperitoncal[y administered to female Sprague-Dawley rats at O, 5, 20 or 80 mg/kg from 2 weeks prior to mating to Day 7 of gestation. At necropsy, the number of implanted embryos, rate of implantation decreased and the rate of preimplantation loss showed an increasing tendency in the 80 mgfkg group, As for organ weight, decreases in abso]utc and re]ative ovary weight were observed in the 80 rngtkg group. Histopathologically, the ovaries showed a decrease in nuniber ofsmal[ fo11icles at 80 mg/kg.

P-58: Evaluation of Ovarian Toxicity Effects of Chlorpromazine in Female Rats
Background: Elevations in serum prolactin levels (hyperprolactinaemia) are a common side effect of conventional antipsychotic treatments. The main objective of this study was to consider the effects of the antipsychotic drug chlorpromazine (CPZ) in female rats reproductive system and to examine the relationship between the effects on reproductive organs and hormone concentrations. Materials and...

Background: Reproductive toxicity studies (RTS) represent an important part of pre-clinical safety evaluation of any drug development process for human consumption. It is mandatory requirement that RTS must be completed before any drug can be administered to women of childbearing age. Therefore, at first segment of toxicity check the toxic effect of the drug on fertility must be tested on non-c...
متن کاملCollaborative work on evaluation of ovarian toxicity. 8) Two- or four-week repeated-dose studies and fertility study of Anastrozole in female rats.
The main focus of this study was to determine the optimal administration period in terms of toxic effects on ovarian morphological changes. To assess the morphological and functional changes induced by anastrozole in ovaries, the compound was administered to female rats at dose levels or 0, 0.01, 0.1 and 50 mg/kg for 2 or 4 weeks in the repeated dose toxicity study and at levels of 0, 0.01, 0.1...
متن کاملCollaborative work on evaluation of ovarian toxicity. 17) Two- or four-week repeated-dose studies and fertility study of sulpiride in female rats.
To find the appropriate dosing period to detect ovarian toxicity, sulpiride, a D2 antagonist was orally dosed to female rats at dose levels of 1, 10, and 100 mg/kg/day daily for 2 or 4 weeks in repeated-dose toxicity studies. In addition, sulpiride at the same dose levels was given to female rats daily during the pre-mating period, mating period, and Days 0-7 of gestation to assess its effect o...
